WHO'S WHO
Pierre Walters (Berenger) was born in Washington, DC, and discovered acting early in life. His career includes more than 30 stage productions, with notable roles in Hamlet, Twelfth Night, A Doll’s House, The Diviners, and The Mojo and the Sayso. Recent credits include A Raisin in the Sun, The Zoo Story, Seven Guitars, and Book of Grace. He has appeared in more than 30 films.
Pierre was nominated for The Baltimore Crown Awards Actor of the Year and received the Queens World Film Festival Best Actor Award for his role as Glenn Johnson in the feature film The Red Effect.
Selina Tom-Johnson (Daisy) is honored and excited to appear in Rhinoceros at Live Garra. Recent credits include Gracie Dunbar in The Nacirema Society at Little Theatre of Alexandria, Beneatha in A Raisin in the Sun at Rockville Little Theatre, and Catherine in Proof at Theatre Lab’s Breakout Theatre. A proud Theatre Lab member and attorney, she thanks her loved ones and dedicates this performance to dreamers everywhere.
Todd Leatherbury (Jean) is a professional comic who has appeared on Candid Camera and studied with Charles Nelson Reilly. He serves as General Manager for Live Garra Theatre and is happy to return to the stage in Rhinoceros. Todd has performed in Live Garra productions including A Matter of Perspective, No Exit, Dry Bones, and The Window King, supporting both the company’s artistic and operational work.
Joshua O. Ikotun (Dudard) acts from a desire to empathize, connect, and tell stories that reflect the human experience while entertaining audiences. He began performing in church plays and has continued developing his craft on stages throughout Greater Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Recent credits include No Mean City, Hairspray, A Few Good Men, A Raisin in the Sun, and Radium Girls. He thanks God, family, and friends.
Joel Snyder* (The Logician) is a longtime audio describer and voice talent whose work has made television, film, museums, and the performing arts accessible for people who are blind. His performance credits include Street Scene with Wolf Trap Opera, Six Degrees of Separation at Center Stage, The Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Brooklyn Boy, My Antonia, and productions at Theatre J.

Gary Hines (The Old Gentleman) Since 2015, Gary Hines has acted in and directed community theatre productions across Shenandoah Valley. His credits include Chasing Manet and The Sweetest Swing in Baseball at Winchester Little Theatre; Fall of Heaven and Fences at Selah Theatre Project; Flowers for Algernon at Off Broadway Players; and Middle of Yesterday and Verdict for The Rouss. He has also appeared with Theatre Shenandoah and in Live Garra readings.

Annmarie Carmody (The Waitress) previously appeared in Rockville Little Theater’s The Grapes of Wrath. She has participated in several Live Garra staged readings, including Rhinoceros, Monteggia Fracture, The Window King, and Comfort Food, and is happy to see Rhinoceros come fully to life. Annmarie thanks her castmates, crew, Wanda, friends, and family for their support.
Jay Reyes (The Proprietor/Fireman) is a Dominican actor pursuing work in theatre, film, television, and voice acting, with a focus on grounded, naturalistic performance and emotionally honest storytelling. His credits include E-MEM in Xtigone and Sir Andrew in Twelfth Night at Prince George’s Community College. He has been nominated for Best Male Supporting Actor and Best Male Lead Actor at the PGCC Owl Awards.
Maira Aguirre (The Grocer’s Wife) is thrilled to make her DMV theater debut in Rhinoceros. A bilingual actor from Colombia, she has appeared on screen in Underground King and Albatross. She was also recognized in the national video contest La Colombia que soñamos for the Colombian Ministry of ICT. Her training includes Mary Washington University and Montgomery College of Arts.
Adam Douglass Vinson (The Grocer) is an actor, musician, and storyteller whose work spans theater, film, and music. A graduate of NYU Tisch and the Stella Adler Studio, he values character-driven storytelling and transformative performance. Stage credits include portraying Malcolm X in The Meeting for Amazing Theatre Company. As “AV,” he released The Golden Hour, performed throughout New York City, and collaborated with The Last Poets and Freestyle Love Supreme.
Francy Hays (The Housewife) loved theatre in high school and college, then returned to it decades later after a long career in international development and raising a family. She rediscovered her passion through Wanda Whiteside’s acting classes at Montgomery College. Rhinoceros marks her first performance opportunity since playing long-forgotten roles many years ago.
Daniel Kay (Botard) & The Logician (understudy) is a DC-area writer and artist with credits in Mental Floss, Woman’s World, and children’s song lyrics for Eligraphics. Canadian by birth, he settled in Silver Spring in 2002 and lives there with his wife and two children. Until 2023, he hosted events in DC bars for District Karaoke. Rhinoceros is his first play performance.
Jacqueline Caldwell (Mrs. Boeuf) is thrilled to be a part of Ionesco’s Rhinoceros with Live Garra Theatre. After retiring from higher education administration and law, she began taking local classes and joined Live Garra Theatre readings including: Tea with Michelle, Shadow Box, Monteggia Fracture, The Window King and Rhinoceros. She is fluent in French, and looks forward to future theatre opportunities.
Victor Smith (Mr. Papillon) Victor is making his debut performance as Mr. Papillon. He studied acting at Montgomery College and he has a background in improv and stand-up comedy at local venues.
THE CREATIVE TEAM
Wanda Whiteside, EdD (Director, Artistic Producer) oversees Live Garra Theatre’s creative vision, programming, and productions. She trained at Boston Conservatory, HB Actor’s Studio, and Usdan Center, and has performed at Olney Theatre Center, Arena Stage, and Round House Theatre. Dr. Whiteside holds a BFA degree in Theatre Arts, Masters' degrees in Business Management and Theatre for Social Change. Dr. Whiteside had a 15-year tenure as a Director/Editor at Discovery Communications, Inc. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Social Innovation at Fielding Graduate University. In addition, Dr. Whiteside is an Acting instructor at Montgomery College, where she also serves as a Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation ambassador.
Pierre Alexandre Bouvery (Stage Manager) is a stage manager, performer, and teaching artist contributing to Live Garra Theatre’s Rhinoceros. He trained in acting in the U.S. and abroad, holds a performing arts degree from Richmond International American School of London and an MFA degree Rose Bruford College in London, and has volunteered with ArtStream. Previous work includes POMAD Pielian, When We Dead Awaken, and Club Cockatoo.
Susanti Rodgers (Assistant Stage Manager) (she/they) is a local performer and assistant director. Recent performance credits include Got It Good with Bethesda Little Theatre, Rent at Laurel Mill Playhouse, and a Phantom in Crisis Community Services’ Rocky Horror. Assistant directing credits include work with Adventure Theatre, Traveling Players Ensemble, and Faction of Fools. Susanti earned an AA in Theatre Performance from Montgomery College and is pursuing a BA in Theatre at UMD.
Jameon K. Gray (Production Team) is an actor, community advocate, and activist who uses storytelling to inspire healing, growth, and transformation. His work encourages dialogue around trauma, resilience, second chances, and underserved communities. A key part of his creative journey is Dry Bones, whose themes of restoration and renewal reflect his mission to bridge art and activism.
Carol Blue (Managing Director) As Live Garra’s Managing Director, Carol brings her business expertise and dedication to the mission to every project the Company produces. She has been a meeting and event planner for over 15 years and is integral to Live Garra Theatre’s surge as a premiere theatre company in the DMV theatre arena.
